The state's new commercial building code, which is the 2021 International Building Code (IBC) with "Wisconsinisms," will be applied to all plans submitted to the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS) and local government plan reviewers starting November 1, 2025--unless that transition date is delayed. This new commercial building code is different in many substantial ways from the outgoing code, which was based on the 2015 IBC. Check in and a hot breakfast will start at 8:30 AM. The program will start at 9:00 AM and run throughout the morning, with lunch provided at the end.
The faculty will include Ryan Schmitz, AIA, NCARB, of Plunkett Raysich Architects, LLP and Nic Sell, Design Specialist at Dave Jones, Inc. We anticipate that the faculty will also include a local government or third-party plan reviewer.
The registration fees for the program are as follows:
Smart Growth members: $59 (plus a 3% convenience fee for credit card payments--avoid the fee by paying by check or ACH transfer)
Non-members: $79 (plus a 3% convenience fee for credit card payments--avoid the fee by paying by check or ACH transfer)
