With the 2017 tax cuts set to expire, this is a great opportunity to update the historic tax credits. While it has been a valuable community revitalization tool for over 40 years, the HTC has not been modernized since 1986. The Heritage team has committed to working closely with the Historic Tax Credit Coalition to help raise awareness among the decision-makers in DC about the value of the historic tax credit and the need to update the program to restore its value and make small projects easier to complete.
Join us in supporting the 1000 Actions in 100 Days #RehabtheHTC campaign. The goal is to contact as many legislators as possible through email, phone calls, and social media to encourage their support for efforts to update the HTC as part of the new tax legislation. Follow the link below to sign up and receive updates on how you can take action too.
Together we can ensure that the historic tax credit program continues to support economic development on our Main Streets and in our urban cores, creating jobs, putting buildings back into productive use, and reusing our history.
