Go behind the scenes with architectural historian and exhibition curator Eric Vogel as he discusses Frank Lloyd Wright: Modern Chair Design, an exhibition that challenges the common notion that Wright’s designs were secondary to his architectural work. Learning Objectives

• Explore Frank Lloyd Wright’s (FLW) relationship to design history and early modernism in specific relationships between the structure of furniture and architecture.
• Examine the unique process of researching and curating an exhibition using recreations of lost furniture to reveal a different perspective on FLW’s career.
• Identify how fabrication can become a research methodology revealing important information about historical objects that text and photographic records can’t offer.
• Recognize how architectural training plays into the work of an architectural historian and design curator.
