As a follow-up to the “Behind the Build” event held last summer at Stonecast Products, Inc., join AIA Milwaukee for a construction tour and learn about the latest project milestones associated with the Nature & Culture Museum of Wisconsin.
The tour will begin promptly at 3:15PM. Please see the site map for parking and meeting locations. PPE requirements listed below. Limited amounts of protective equipment will be available for attendees.
Post-tour social to occur at a neighboring restaurant immediately after the event.

Learning Objectives:
Gain insights into the coordination between the design team, fabricators, and constructors to install the central hung staircase within the building atrium.
Observe the connections and systems necessary to secure architectural precast concrete panels to the structure while maintaining a continuous building envelope.
Evaluate the various features, from natural atrium ventilation to low carbon materials, contributing to museum sustainability.
Understand how early architectural design studies informed by distinct natural settings are realized in the constructed building.

Check-in with an AIA Milwaukee officer at the Mortenson Project Job Office at 1400 N 6th Street. Limited (metered) street parking is available. See site visit map below.
REQUIRED PPE: Registrants without proper equipment will be unable to participate.
HELMET: safety helmet with integrated chin strap
GLOVES: ANSI rated Cut A3 (or greater) gloves
GLASSES: ANSI Z87 rated safety glasses with foam liner
BOOTS: hard-soled work boots
VEST: high-visibility reflective vest
