Join us for an AIA Northwest Construction Tour of the new UWEC Science Building + Happy Hour at Dive Bar in the Lismore Hotel

Tour the new UWEC Science Building. The construction site building tour is scheduled from 4:30 – 5:30pm (Hard hats/ vests/ closed toe shoes).  After the tour, gather with fellow members and AIA Wisconsin leadership for a happy hour to celebrate Archtoberfest, catch up with colleagues, and make new connections. We’ll enjoy light bites and refreshments at the Dive Bar in the Lismore Hotel in Eau Claire (until 7pm).

A tour and overview of the new University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire Science and Health Sciences Building. The approximately 330,000 square foot, five story building will be a replacement to Phillips Hall and is designed with research, teaching, and collaboration in mind. This is an opportunity to view the latest addition to UWEC’s campus before it opens its doors in 2027. The tour will be given by Miron Construction with design notes from HOK and Potter Lawson.

• Identify the building construction type and material selection.
• Recognize the construction phase and future design considerations.
• Understand the MEP systems utilized and sustainability considerations.

• Meet at the construction trailer near College of Nursing located at 5 Roosevelt Avenue (Building site is at 101 Garfield Ave)
• Hard hats/ vests/ closed toe shoes required.
