Join AIA Milwaukee for a tour of the recently completed O’Brien Hall at Marquette University:
O'Brien Hall is a transformational new facility for business education and innovation at Marquette University. The 109,000 square-foot, four-story facility is home to the University's College of Business Administration programs, the Graduate School of Management, and Leadership Programs. Prominently located at a campus gateway along Wisconsin Avenue, the building establishes a vital campus corridor connecting the university to the community and the broader region.
Upon completion in 2023, O'Brien Hall received multiple honors for excellence in design and construction. Early architectural studies into scale, massing, and materials were informed by adjacent campus and neighborhood buildings, streetscapes, and existing urban design patterns. Carefully crafted interior environments create integrated spaces that emphasize transparency, clarity, connectivity, and student focused experiences. Additionally, a high-performance building envelope and dense frit glazing systems lower solar heat gain in an effort to target 27% overall energy reduction from the baseline EUI.
Marquette University partnered with BNIM, Workshop Architects, J.H. Findorff & Son, and other local consultants to realize O'Brien Hall.
The tour will begin promptly at 4:00PM. Metered street parking is available nearby; the 16th Street Parking Structure is also open for a fee. Please check-in with an AIA Milwaukee officer stationed at the building entrance at the corner of 16th Street and Wisconsin Avenue.
