PROJECT ARCHITECT / SENIOR PROJECT ARCHITECT

We are seeking an experienced Project Architect or Senior Project Architect to join our team in a full-time, salaried position. This role is ideal for a motivated architect who enjoys both the technical and collaborative aspects of project delivery and is ready to take a leadership role in developing architectural projects.

The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, junior staff, subconsultants, and engineering disciplines to produce high-quality architectural documents and successfully move projects from design through construction. Approximately 15% of the position will also be dedicated to marketing and business development in the Madison area, including building relationships and engaging with potential clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and mentor junior architectural staff in the development of architectural drawings and project documentation.
• Assist the Project Manager with project coordination, scheduling, and day-to-day project management responsibilities.
• Coordinate the work of subconsultants and other engineering disciplines to ensure an integrated design.
• Develop and maintain accurate architectural drawings and models using Revit.
• Prepare and write project specifications.
• Review drawings and documents for quality, coordination, and compliance with project requirements.
• Participate in project meetings and coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal team members.
• Help identify and resolve design and technical issues throughout the project lifecycle.
• Spend approximately 15% of your time focused on marketing and business development in the Madison area.
• Develop and maintain relationships with prospective clients, community contacts, and industry professionals.
• Engage potential clients, identify opportunities, and help expand the firm's presence and client base in the Madison market.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Professional degree in Architecture and significant architectural project experience.
• Experience working as a Project Architect, Senior Project Architect, or in a similar role.
• Strong proficiency in Revit and the ability to independently produce and coordinate architectural drawings.
• Experience coordinating consultants and multiple engineering disciplines.
• Strong understanding of architectural construction documents and project delivery.
• Experience writing and coordinating project specifications.
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Ability to mentor junior staff and work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with an interest in marketing, networking, and business development.
• Ability to represent the firm professionally when meeting with prospective clients and community partners.

WORK LOCATION

This is a hybrid position serving the Madison and Milwaukee, Wisconsin areas:

3 days per week remote in the Madison, Wisconsin area

2 days per week in our Milwaukee, Wisconsin office

Candidates should be comfortable maintaining a regular presence in the Milwaukee office while working remotely from the Madison area.
