Join us for an exclusive behind-the-scenes construction tour of FPC Live’s new concert venue in downtown Milwaukee’s Deer District. Designed by Eppstein Uhen Architects and currently under construction by Miron Construction, this project represents a complex, high-profile addition to the city’s vibrant live entertainment scene.

This tour will take you inside the intricacies of designing and building a state-of-the-art music venue—while navigating an array of unique challenges, including structural constraints, city approval processes, and active coordination with the U.S. Secret Service ahead of the 2024 Republican National Convention.

PPE: closed toed shoes, hard hats, safety glasses, long pants, and vests are required (if not, you will not be abel to attend).

Following the tour, there will be a happy hour at 5:30pm (location TBD).

Learning Objectives:

• City of Milwaukee approval process, which involved review/approval of initial project (two venues) and review/amendment of revised project (single venue). Highly unique considerations for project schedule and secret service coordination due to Republican National Convention during active construction in Summer 2024.
• Structural coordination for deep pile foundations, required by existing soil conditions, previous Bradley Center piles abandoned in place, other building foundations abandoned in place from prior to the Bradley Center construction. Review of abandoned piles for ability to reuse, eventually resulting in just having to work around abandoned piles.
• Seating layout and sight lines, to meet seating requirements from owner (standing room on first floor, fixed seating/standing room upper floors, and box seating). Constructability and coordination between architect, engineer, and contractor for precast concrete, cast in place concrete, and other structural components of seating area.
• Involvement of multiple layers of design/build and consultant team members – EUA consultants included; Pierce Engineers (structural consultant), Boelter (food service consultant), Professional Audio Designs/Talaske (acoustic consultant), JWC Building Specialties (seating consultant) - MEPFP design/build coordination with Miron Construction including; Pieper (electrical design/build), JF Ahern (FP, plumbing, & HVAC design/build)
